Non Streaming Live in concert Real Audio Clips and other rare GBV items

As many GBV fans will attest to, their live show is one of the best around. You never know what's going to happen at any moment. Captured in this section are some great and rare moments in GBV live history. You'll need a Real Audio player to listen to the sound files. Special thanks go out to Bob Pollard for allowing us to put these up here. All the clips come from fan made bootleg tapes and were recorded into Real Audio files using a boom box so excuse any poor quality. All songs in this section are copyright property of Needmore Songs and are written by Robert Pollard except for Key Losers which was written by Robert Pollard and Tobin Sprout and Mice Feel Nice instrumental written by Doug Gillard. Enjoy!
  • Make Use -  Live in NYC Irving Plaza - 2/13/99.
  • Snatch Candy - Check out this clip from Robert Pollard's Kid Marine LP.
  • Mice Feel Nice - Thanks to Doug Gillard, this is a clip of the beautiful instrument that originally was Mice Feel Nice before Doug sent it to Bob to collaborate on.Here's how it all came about directly from Doug - "Sometime in `93, when GbV played a show with Gem , I gave Bob a tape of several instrumental songs in case he wanted to use them for anything . I'd had the untitled song you hear now for a few years, and thought it too "folky" , so I slowed it down to the lower speed where it sounded more interesting . I put that on the tape as well , Bob unearthed it at his leisure, and it eventually wound up as "Mice Feel Nice ( in my room )" .
  • Acoustic My Impression Now. One of the best live GBV live clips ever. A must hear.
  • From The World Cafe it's a stripped down Sad If I Lost It.
  • Burning Flag Birthday Suit recorded live in studio on MuchMusic TV in Canada.
  • This rarity is Chance To Buy An Island with Bob actually playing solo. This was from the Under The Bushes Under The Stars record release party in Dayton, Ohio. It was a spur of the moment encore done with Bob on electric guitar many months before this song was ever released.
  • Bob rants against Dayton rock critic Dave Larson for his infamous Gilly's review at a show in Boston, MA.
  • The ending of Weed King at this show on the Mag Earwhig! tour shows the magic that can be produced at any given live GBV concert.
  • "Eat My Ass" not much more can be said about this fan who jumped up on stage at the end of a song.
  • Bob responds to the "Eat My Ass" guy.
  • Bob gets fired up by the "EMA" man.
